Are you interested in learning about seals while observing them in the wild?
Join us at Cupsogue Beach County Park for our 2024-2025 guided beach monitoring and cleanup walks. Learn about the different species of seals that inhabit the waters around Long Island and how we can all help conserve the marine environment. The beach walk brings you to a prime viewing spot for one of the popular haul-out sites for local seals, where biologists will show you how to safely and respectfully view wildlife from a distance.
This event is free, with a suggested donation of $5. Beach cleanup supplies will be provided, but it is recommended that you bring your gloves. Be sure to dress warmly! Please note that there are different times for the beach walks based on the tides and the best times to see the seals.
