Education is the foundation of our work. Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) is an organization with decades of field and education experience from our team of biologists, interns, and volunteers. We encourage people of all ages to become stewards of the marine environment and help us carry out our mission of promoting marine conservation through action.
We offer a variety of public and private programs throughout the year that can be held indoors or outside, virtually or in person. Our education program topics include an in-depth introduction to marine mammals, sea turtles, and invasive species found in New York waters, the Long Island Sound ecosystem, marine debris, climate change, and more! Additionally, a strong component of our education initiative is to conduct beach monitoring across Long Island’s coastline and collect marine debris data that can be used in ongoing research projects.
